Summary: Collection consists of a broad range of materials from Cassidy's personal and professional activities. Includes letters received and sent; newspaper clippings and notebooks on Pueblo Indians; articles and pamphlets on Gerald Cassidy and his art; and a catalog of books published by the Grand Quivira Society from 1929 to 1939. Also within the collection is a typed manuscript of an unpublished work on the Spanish in New Mexico by Mary Austin and Frank Applegate; a typed manuscript of a chapter on the La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe from a work by Ina Cassidy entitled "The Hill Towns of New Spain;" and photocopies of selected diary entries and letters of Edward, Richard, and Benjamin Kern, who were part of the Fremont expedition of 1848-49 into the Southern Rocky Mountains.

Richard H. Kern was the older brother of Edward Meyer Kern. Richard was also an illustrator and scientist who, like Edward, accompanied the surveyor John C.
